Presidential $1
The first Presidential $1 coins were issued in 2007. Each piece features a dramatic portrait emblematic of one of our nation’s former Presidents, issued in the order their term (at a rate of four coins per year). All Presidential $1 coins have the Statue of Liberty as their common Reverse design.
George Washington
Im mediately after ratification of the
Constitution, the first US Electoral College unanimously elected and then
“asked” George Washington to serve as the United State ’s
first president. The former Commander in
Chief of the Continental Army served two terms as president, serving from 1789
to 1797.
John Adams
John Adams Coins
First President to reside in the White House, John
Adams corresponding with his wife wrote, “Before I end my letter, I pray Heaven
to bestow the best of Blessings on this (White) House and all that shall
hereafter inhabit it. May none but
honest and wise Men ever rule under this roof.” Honor this historic moment with a John Adams Coin.
Thomas Jefferson
The United States of America doubled in size under Thomas Jefferson with the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. Then Jefferson persuaded Congress to fund our first US Scientific Exploration known now as the Lewis & Clark Expedition.
James Madison
Following the American Revolution, James Madison worked with Alexander Hamilton and John Jay to co-write the Federalist papers (a series of 85 essays that advocate the United States Constitution.) Later in Congress, James Madison helped secure passage for the Bill of Rights.
