Filter Options: Filter Options:

Andrew Jackson led American troops in the battle of New Orleans.  The 4,000 American troops faced a British army of over twice their numbers, but emerged victoriously.  The reverse of Andrew Jackson’s Liberty coin depicts Jackson on a horse in battle with his nickname “Old Hickory” displayed. The victory in New Orleans helped secure the southern sea port as part of the first successful military defense of the country’s national sovereignty.
