Certified American Gold Eagles

Gainesville Coins carries a wide range of certified American Gold Eagles including Proof American Gold Eagles. Certified coins, also known as graded coins, are given a grade by a coin grading company. The two best known coin grading services are PCGS and NGC. The grades are based on the Sheldon scale.

The Gold Eagle was first released by the U.S. Mint in 1986, and along with the American Gold Buffalo, are the official U.S. gold bullion coin. U.S. Gold Eagles are minted in 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz sizes.

The obverse of the American Gold Eagle features Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ full length figure of Lady Liberty which was produced by the U.S. Mint from 1907 to 1933. Augustus Saint-Gaudens was commissioned by President Theodore Roosevelt to redesign U.S. gold coinage.
