Buy $20 Gold Liberty Double Eagle - (NGC/PCGS MS-64) - Random Date

The $20 Gold Liberty Double Eagle was the largest circulating gold coin in America during the late 1840's. On March 3, 1849, U.S. Congress passed legislation to authorize the production of the Double Eagles. The United States Mint struck this stunning Double Eagle with each coin containing .9675 oz of pure gold. Designed by James B. Longacre, these coins were minted from 1850 to 1907. Gainesville Coins offers common date U.S. $20 Liberty gold coins graded in MS64 condition by either NGC or PCGS. Orders will be filled with one coin at the stated price.

The coin's obverse features a portrait of the beautiful Lady Liberty looking-left. This design was inspired by the ancient Greco-Roman sculpture Crouching Venus. Liberty wears her curly locks tucked away in a bun and an eloquent coronet with, “LIBERTY,” inscribed across it. The year of coinage will be struck underneath her portrait. Both sides of the coin display thirteen stars, representing the Original Thirteen Colonies of the United States. The reverse design was inspired by the Great Seal of the United States. A patriotic American Bald Eagle bears a shield on his breast. The legend, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TWENTY D.,” encircles the heraldic eagle. Above the eagle's head is the motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST.”

Gainesville Coins offers a variety of historical $20 Gold Liberty Double Eagles. The date of coinage depends on the current inventory at Gainesville Coins.
