Product Details

2012 10 oz Silver Perth Mint Year of the Dragon Coin.

The 2012 10 oz silver Year of the Dragon coin was issued by the Perth Mint. Part of the Australia’s Lunar Series, this coin is 99.9% pure silver. Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act of 1965, 300,000 of these 10 oz coins were minted.

This side has the Ian Rank-Broadley rendering of Queen Elizabeth II.

This side has a long, scaled Chinese dragon with a pearl. It also has the Chinese character for “dragon” and the inscription “Year of the Dragon.”

The Lunar series is one of the most popular silver bullion programs today. Each year represents a different animal in the Chinese Zodiac and 2012 is the Dragon. The fifth animal in the Chinese Zodiac, the dragon is a symbol of power, strength, and luck. People born under this sign are thought to be confident, brave, and passionate.
