About the MS69 American Gold Eagle Coins

Since 1986 a rendition of sculptor Adolph A. Weinman’s wondrous “Walking Liberty” has styled the obverse/front of the American Eagle coins. Symbolizing vigilance and resolute faithfulness to duty, Weinman’s original design also graced this Nation’s first circulated half-dollar coin in 1916.

The American Eagle Gold Uncirculated coin is available in 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 ounce sizes, as well as a complete four-coin set containing one coin of each size. The mint process for uncirculated coins is similar to the minting procedures used to create the magnificent American Eagle Proofs.

In 2006 the US Mint started American Eagle Uncirculated Coins are hand-loaded, struck on specially burnished blanks and carry the "W" mint mark of the United States Mint at West Point.
