The Bald Eagle represents the Executive Branch ? wings spread wide to represent freedom ? with a shield ready to defend the laws that guarantees our freedom. These coins have the inscriptions of the denominations, the weight of the metal content, the year of minting or issuance, the words "Liberty," "In God We Trust," "United States of America," and "E Pluribus Unum," and feature a reeded edge.
