2014 1 oz Silver Somalian African Elephant (.999 Pure)
This 2014 installment of the Africa Wildlife series is composed of 1 troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver and is one of the more popular silver collectors coin series that promotes awareness of the different species of endangered elephants that roam the African continent. The reverse of the coin depicts three beautiful Somalian Elephants (a mated pair and their calf) in tall grass, and is stamped with "African Wildlife," and "Elephant 1 oz Ag 999." The obverse of the coin features the heraldic symbol of the Somalian Republic, the year of the coin (2014), and the Shilling value of the coin at 100 Schillings.
Although the coins are from Somalia, they are minted in Germany by the private Bavarian State Mint. The Bavarian State Mint is a government-owned mint that is highly respected and, thus, ensures the quality of the 0.999 pure silver the coins are made from. Therefore, the 2014 Somalian African Elephant edition of the African Wildlife coin series is a treasured collector's coin.
