Struck in the oldest mint in America, Casa de Moneda de Mexico, this 2010 1/2 oz Proof Gold Mexican Libertad is a detailed example of the beautiful Libertad bullion round. This Proof is made with 1/2 oz of .999 pure gold
On the obverse, the Winged Victoria of Mexican Independence stands on a pedestal with her right hand raised. The Mexican volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl rise to either side of her, beautifully detailed with the proof finish. The weight, purity, and year are struck around the top of the rim.
The reverse features the coat of arms of Mexico, an eagle perched on a cactus, grasping a snake in its mouth and one talon. The legend "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" is struck above the proud scene and a detailed rim design accentuates the proof finish.
