The 2015 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf 1oz bullion coin is only the second year that this extra-pure silver coin has sported the most advanced security measures of any unlimited mintage silver coin.
The specimen-finish field has been replaced with a precisely-cut radial design that gives a diffracting effect in the light. To the right side of the leaf stem is a laser-etched "micro privy" of a maple leaf, with the number "15" in the center, denoting the year of mintage.
As it has since its inception in 1988, the 2015 Silver Maple Leaf boasts of an extra-pure .9999 fine silver content - the only unlimited mintage silver coin to do so. Graced on its obverse by the Susanna Blunt portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the reverse features the timeless maple leaf design of Walter Ott.
Proudly bearing a $5 CAN face value, this coin is legal tender in Canada, which means its purity and weight are guaranteed by the Canadian government. The Royal Canadian Mint ran out of these fantastic coins in 2014 and had to ration them, so be sure to grab your new 2015 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf before shortages hit again!
