Details & Specifications

The Chinese Lunar New Year is nearly upon us, and now is the ideal time to get your own 2016 10 oz Lunar Year of the Monkey silver bar from Gainesville Coins! 2016 marks the Year of the Monkey for the first time since 2004. You can join in on the Lunar calendar celebration in .999 fine silver with this proof-like silver art bar! Each bar contains a total of 10 troy ounces of pure silver.

The front side of the bar displays a landscape-style scene of monkeys in a jungle environment. Two monkeys are shown in the foreground sitting in the tree, while the elder monkey grooms its younger companion. Another monkey can be seen swinging through the trees to the right. A forest of trees fills the backdrop, along with a patch of clear skies streaked by clouds.

The back side shows a Lunar calendar at the center of the design, showing the 12 different signs of Chinese Lunar calendar (or Chinese zodiac). The inscription above the circular calendar indicates the weight of the bar, "TEN TROY OUNCE," while the purity is inscribed below the wheel, reading ".999 FINE SILVER." The Chinese character for "Monkey" and the year-date "2016" are found in the center of the circle. Stylized Chinese characters along with floral patterns fill in the space to the left and right of the circle.

The Chinese Lunar calendar is a universal theme that is celebrated by people all over the world, not unlike the way that silver is universally valued as a precious metal. You can combine these two benefits in one bullion bar with the 2016 10 oz Lunar Year of the Monkey silver bar (.999 fine silver)!
