Gainesville Coins has just received some Saudi Arabian Gold Guineas in stock. These coins were designed as a Saudi equivalent of the British Gold Sovereign, and were the first gold coins ever minted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Guinea was first minted in 1950, but was not released into circulation until 1952 with the establishment of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) to oversee currency matters in the kingdom. There was one additional mintage in 1957 before these coins were removed from circulation due to the rising price of gold. These 22mm coins are made with .917 pure gold and have an AGW of .2354 ozt.

Yes, someone used the same photo for the restrike and the original by mistake when it was put up (this is a three year-old post you're commenting on, by the way.) We carry both, but are out of stock on all our Saudi gold coins at the moment.
