The Roman Legionnaire is the first of this set, and features a roman soldier in full battle dress including the "galea," a metal helmet with cheek guards, and "cuirass," body armor comprising of overlapping iron plates. These famous warriors of Rome created one of the ancient world's most formidable empires, with territory stretching from Hadrian's Wall in North England to the port city of Alexandria in North Africa. The Knight is the third release of this four part series. The reverse shows a full-color knight, heavily-armed, bearing two swords and a mace (a bludgeoning weapon with an armor-penetrating head.) The portrayal includes heraldic motifs, originally used to identify knights in battle. The knight is a renowned battle figure from the middle ages through the early Renaissance. The obverse is a profile of Queen Elizabeth II designed by artist Raphael Maklouf.
Samurai 1 oz Silver Proof Coin
The Samurai is the final release of this four part series. The reverse portrays a Samurai in full armor. Each suit of Japanese armor (kikou), Japanese helmet (kabuto), is believed to have a soul or chi. Samurai were fierce warriors in Japan.
