Buy 2012 Year of the Dragon - 1 oz Gilded Silver Coin

The 2012 Year of the Dragon 1 oz Gilded Silver Coin is made of 1 oz of .999 fine silver and comes in a red and black presentation case with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). The dragon on reverse has been gilded with 24k gold. The 2012 Year of the Dragon is the fifth design of the Perth Mint's Lunar Series 2 famous Chinese Lunar Calendar line.

1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, and 2012 are Years of the Dragon. Persons who fall under the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese Zodiac are intelligent, creative, powerful, and independent, but can be quick-tempered and would be hard-pressed to follow the rules. A Dragon’s companions are the Tiger, the Monkey, the Pig, the Sheep, and the Snake, but their enemies are the Ox, the Rabbit, and the Dog. Dragons are best suited for relationships with the Rat, other Dragons, the Horse, or the Rooster.

The obverse carries the right side profile of Queen Elizabeth II, with, "Elizabeth II," and "Australia," around the top border. The bottom of the obverse features the coins; weight (1oz 999 Silver), date (2012), and denomination (1 Dollar). The reverse shows a gilded traditional Chinese dragon rippling through the sky and reaching for the mystical "Pearl of Wisdom." Below the dragon is the inscription, “Year of the Dragon,” while the Chinese character for Dragon appears on the right side of the dragon. The “P” mint mark of the Perth Mint is on the far right, next to the dragon’s tail.
