Buy $5 Liberty Gold Half Eagle (Extra Fine) - Random Date

Produced between 1839 and 1908, the $5 Liberty Gold Half Eagle – also known as Liberty Head – remains the only coin to have been struck at all 7 US Mints. This numismatic legacy, combined with the Liberty Head's .2419 troy ounces of .900 pure gold makes it a valuable addition to any collection. These Raw Liberty Head Half Eagle $5 Gold Coins XF have not been certified by a professional grading service (hence the term “raw”). The XF designation describes their general “Extremely Fine” condition.

The obverse features a bust of Lady Liberty facing left, her hair cascading down her neck and crowned with a coronet inscribed with “LIBERTY”. The bust is surrounded by 13 six-pointed stars representing the original 13 colonies. The reverse shows a classical shielded bald eagle holding three arrows in one claw and an olive branch in the other, the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA - FIVE D” circle the edge. Liberty Heads struck after 1866 also have the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” on the reverse.

Liberty Gold Half Eagles are identifiable by their mint marks: CC – Carson City, C – Charlotte, D – Dahlonega, D – Denver, O – New Orleans, Philadelphia (no mark) and S – San Francisco. Gainesville Coins offers these Liberty Heads in raw Extra Fine condition and in random dates according to availability.

Coin date varies and is randomly chosen from available inventory.
