The obverse of this Mexican 72% pure silver coin features the official name of the state of Mexico, "Estados Unidos Mexicanos," arched across the top. The elegant Mexican Coat of Arms, featuring an eagle devouring a rattlesnake, is struck with impressive detail on the center of the coin. Under the eagle are both the weight and purity of the coin. Since this is a legal tender coin, the denomination of, "cinco pesos," is inscribed on the bottom in large letters. Beneath the denomination you will find the date of issue and the "Mo" mint mark.
