The words "1 Onza" "Plata Pura" "1985" "Mexico" and "Ley .999" are inscribed on the obverse of this libertad surrounding the image of the winged Victoria. The Mexican Coat of Arms adorns the back of the coin with an eagle standing on top of a cactus while clutching a snake in its beak. Above the Coat of Arms the words "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" are inscribed.
