Buy 1930 Uruguay 5 Peso Gold Coin (.2501 oz of Gold)

The 1930 Uruguay 5 Peso Gold Coin was minted to celebrate 100 years of existence of the Republic of Uruguay. Each coin contains .2501 oz of pure gold. Although 100,000 coins were minted only 14,415 of those coins were actually released. The coins have a face value of 5 Pesos and diameter of 22mm.

The obverse of the five Peso gold coin features a right-facing portrait of José Gervasio Artigas, who is regarded by many to be the national hero of Uruguay. Occupying most of the rim is the legend, "Republica Oriental Del Uruguay," meaning, "Oriental Republic of Uruguay." Artiga's name is located on the very bottom. The reverse bears the title, "Centenario De 1830." The denomination is struck on the center at, "5 Pesos," and right under it is the date of issue, 1930.
