These 1972-J German 10 Mark Proof Silver Coins were minted to commemorate the 1972 summer Olympics held in Munich, Germany. Each coin is minted in .625 fine silver and has an actual silver content of .311 troy ounces.

A large eagle takes up most of the obverse of this proof quality coin. Underneath the eagle's talons is the 10 Deutsche Mark denomination. The title "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND" is also inscribed along the rim and translated to "Federal Republic of Germany." These coins were minted with a few different reverse images, which will be designated by inventory at the time of purchase. All of the coins feature a decorative lettered edge which reads "FORTIVS CITIVS ALTIVS."

The 1972 J German 10 Mark Proof Silver Coins were minted in Hamburg, Germany. The "J" mint mark on each coin designates Hamburg as the location. These coins are a perfect edition to any collection celebrating Olympic games or European coins.
