What a lovely collectible coin that celebrates the Grand Teton! Gainesville Coins is pleased to offer the 1 oz Silver Swiss of America Golden West Teton Round, from the Draper Mint (now defunct), circa 1970s. Displaying the gorgeous Grand Teton mountain, the round weighs 1 troy ounce and made of 99.9% pure silver. Known for their distinct thickness, these “rolo” rounds are excellent pieces that stand out from the crowd.
The obverse shows the “Golden West” with a lovely outdoor landscape of Grand Teton National Park and the Grand Teton mountain itself. Located in northwest Wyoming, Grand Teton is the highest mountain in Grand Teton National Park at 13,775 feet. Grand Teton's name was first recorded as Mount Hayden from the Washburn Expedition of 1870, but the name Grand Teton had early currency because of the tall peak.
The reverse is simply inscribed, “SWISS OF AMERICA” with the purity and weight. Shows some wear from circulation.
It's time to swoop up these unique collectible coins before they're gone!
