George Washington

The first President of the United States (1789–1797), the commander-in-chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, George Washington's legacy remains among the greatest in American History.

Congressman and Revolutionary War Comrade, Henry Lee summarized President George Washington impact in his famous eulogy:

"First in war, first in peace and first in the hearts of his countrymen, he was second to none in the humble and enduring scenes of private life; pious, just, humane, temperate, and sincere; uniform, dignified, and commanding, his example was as edifying to all around him as were the effects of that example lasting."

During his Presidency George Washington is remembered for one of his biggest accomplishments, the drafting of the U.S Constitution. However, he is also remembered for speculations about his position on slavery. As Commander and Chief, he recognized and regarded the discord of his countrymen's feelings about slavery, despite privately opposed the institution.Washington was the only prominent Founding Father to arrange for the manumission of all his slaves in his will.

The Obverse

Features a prominent portrait of Washington. The year 1974 is to the bottom right of the round with "Liberty Lobby" reading along the bottom rim. To the top of the round reads "Integrity."

The Reverse

Showcases a likeness to the US Coat of Arms emblem, with subtle but important detail edits. The Shield, covering the Eagles chest is inscribed with the Liberty Lobby insignia "LL", with the eagles right claw no longer clutching olive branches, a symbolic element to the US emblem. The Eagles beak releases a banner usually reading "E Pluribus Unum", now carries the words "Eternal Vigilance" in this design. Liberty Lobby uses Thomas Jefferson's famous quote,"The price of liberty is eternal vigilance" as the round's motto.

Along the bottom rim reads "Guaranteed" and along the top reads "One Silver Eagle." Also inscribed is the round's weight and purity.
