Buy 1991 1 oz Silver American Eagle NGC MS69
As part of the Liberty Coin Act of 1985, the 1991 1 oz American Silver Eagles are backed and guaranteed by the US government. Each coin is guaranteed to have exactly 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver. As bullion coinage, each 40.6 mm in diameter and 2.98 mm thick coin has a denominational value of $1.
The obverse of these coins feature Adolph A. Weinman's Liberty. His effigy originated on the "Walking Liberty" half dollar, so named for Liberty's walking portrait. Lady Liberty is pictured strolling toward the rising sun, a symbol for the dawn of a new day. "LIBERTY" is interspersed along the top rim while "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed just above her right ankle. She has the American flag draped around her and a bundle of laurel branches in her left arm. The year "1991" is located underneath her left foot. The reverse image is the heraldic eagle, inspired by the Presidential Seal. This design was created by John Mercanti. The eagle has wings that are outstretched. Within his beak is the "E PLURIBUS UNUM" banner. Above the eagle is a representation of 13 stars, which represent the original colonies. The weight, denomination and country are inscribed on the reverse.
Carrying a grade of MS69, the 1991 1 oz Silver American Eagle appeals to both first time buyers and experienced coin collectors alike. These coins are graded MS69 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).
