Now retired, Hale S. Irwin is known as a world-renowned professional American golfer. At the top of his game in the 1970s and 1980s, Irwin won three U.S. Opens. He still holds the title as the being the oldest U.S. Open Champion at the age of 45 (1990).

The round's obverse displays Irwin in a detailed forward-facing portrait. The golf champion's signature is present on the left side with these legends on his right, ”HALE IRWIN H.O.F. 1992.” The reverse depicts the World Golf Hall of Fame's emblem as the focus. The rim is inscribed, “PGA*TOUR*PARTNERS*CLUB.” The bottom weight and purity of the round are struck along the bottom.
