Details & Specifications

This massive 2013 5 oz proof silver Britannia has been given the top grade of PF70 from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation, and features a slab that is just as impressive. This coin features a beautiful mirrored field, and comes complete with the original mint box and certificate of authenticity.

The obverse of the coin depicts her majesty Queen Elizabeth II (age 86) at the time of her Diamond Jubilee, which commemorates her 60th anniversary as the Head of the Commonwealth. Engraved along the edge of the coin are the words "ELIZABETH II' D'G' REG' FID' DEF", Latin for "By the Grace of God, Queen Elizabeth II, Defender of the Faith." The denomination of the coin, "10 POUNDS", is inscribed along the lower portion of the rim, and the artists initials "IRB" (Ian Rank-Broadly) are embossed along the truncation of Queen Elizabeth's neck. The reverse of the coin depicts the goddess Britannia (the Roman symbol for the Island of Britain) as she sits clutching to a trident. Resting in her lap is an owl, symbolic of wealth and intelligence.

These 5 oz proof Britannia had a limited mintage of just 1,500 coins, making this an impressive addition to any collection of modern bullion coins. So whether you're looking to add a hefty chunk of weight to your precious metals portfolio, or a nice piece to your numismatic collection, this coin does both.
