Buy 1 oz Rand Refinery Thoroughbred Horse Silver Bar - .999 Pure
The Rand Refinery is perhaps the best-known minting facility in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is where the world famous gold Krugerrand coin is struck, as well as a variety of other precious metal bullion products. For 2014, the Rand Refinery has minted these 1 oz Thoroughbred Horse silver bars in honor of the Year of the Horse in the Chinese Lunar calendar. Minted from .999 fine silver, each bar has an actual silver weight (ASW) of 1 troy ounce.
On the front side, the bar is graced by a detailed image of a virile horse as it gallops in full gait. The logo for the Rand Refinery appears below along the bottom rim. A contour pattern is in the background to the left of the horse, while the date "2014" is above its tail. A stylized Chinese symbol for "Horse" sits just above the date.
The back side of the bar has a simpler design. A central square contains the weight of the bar, "1 oz FINE SILVER," while the purity is listed above as "999.0." To the left of the purity, a section of the square is inscribed with the chemical symbol for the element silver, "Ag." Above the square, centered below the top rim, "RAND REFINERY" is inscribed just below the company insignia.
Those who are born in the Year of the Horse are believed to be active, energetic, warm-hearted, but also highly stubborn. After 2014, the sign of the Horse won't return until 2026. Struck at South Africa's finest refinery, these 2014 Rand Refinery 1 oz Thoroughbred Horse silver bars would make an excellent addition to any collection or silver stack.
