The reverse displays a flame in the middle of the coin with the year "1990" flanking the left of it and, "100 FRANCS," flanking to the right. Struck below the flame are, "ALBERTVILLE 92," and the Olympic rings. Rounding the top rim of the coin is, "XVIes JEUX OLYMPIQUES D'HIVER," which roughly translates to the sixteenth Winter Olympic Games.

The 1992 Olympics marked the 3rd time France had been the host nation for a Winter Olympic games. The Albertville Olympics were the last Olympic games to hold speed skating outdoors.
