Feel the rush of excitement from the Winter Olympics with the 1992 France Albertville Olympics 100 Franc Proof Silver Coin! This low-mintage commemorative coin is struck from .64 ounce ASW and is legal tender with a 100 Franc denomination.

Featured on the obverse of the coin are three speed skaters; one in the background, one in the middle ground, and one in the extreme foreground with a marmot standing next to him. The legend reads, "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE" or the French Republic. The reverse displays a flame in the middle of the coin with the year "1990" flanking the left of it and, "100 FRANCS," flanking to the right. Struck below the flame are, "ALBERTVILLE 92," and the Olympic rings. Rounding the top rim of the coin is, "XVIes JEUX OLYMPIQUES D'HIVER," which roughly translates to the sixteenth Winter Olympic Games.

Produced in 1990, this Olympic silver coin was struck to commemorate the Winter Olympics held in Albertville, France. The 1992 Olympics marked the 3rd time France had been the host nation for a Winter Olympic games. The Albertville Olympics were the last Olympic games to hold speed skating outdoors. To date, since 1992, speed skating has been held indoors.
