Details & Specifications

Despite seeing a dip in demand in 2017, the Silver Eagle remains the world's best selling silver bullion coin for several years running. Aside from their 1 troy ounce of actual silver weight (ASW), these coins are also collectible in high grades. The 2018 American Silver Eagle PCGS MS70 First Strike has been certified by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) and received the highest possible grade, MS70! The First Strike modifier indicates the coin was received for grading within 30 days of being issued.

The obverse is graced by an image of Lady Liberty stepping confidently toward the rising sun. Originally designed by A.A. Weinman, this "Walking Liberty" motif appeared on the U.S. silver half dollar from 1916 to 1947. Lady Liberty, dressed in an American flag that billows in the wind, is walking confidently toward the rising sun of a new dawn. She carries oak boughs in one arm and stretches the other arm out in front of her. "LIBERTY" is inscribed across the top rim while the year-date "2018" appears at the bottom rim.

The reverse is graced by a heraldic eagle that was designed by the prolific former Chief Engraver for the United States Mint, John Mercanti. Protected by an unsupported shield, the eagle spreads its wings and carries an olive branch and a group of arrows in its talons. An inverted triangle made up of thirteen stars hangs over its head. "UNITED STATES AMERICA" runs along the top rim while inscriptions at the bottom rim indicate the coin's composition and denomination.

American Silver Eagles continue to provide .999 fine silver bullion to the public and represent American ideals in the artwork of their design. This coin is not only graded a Perfect 70, but also received the coveted First Strike designation from PCGS.
