Buying gold coins for your collection or investment portfolio has never been easier. The American Gold Eagle is the flagship gold coin of the United States Mint, and Gainesville Coins is thrilled to offer this 2018 $25 American Gold Eagle graded MS70 First Day of Issue by NGC! Not only is this the highest grade possible that a coin can receive, it also means it was graded by NGC the first day 2018 Gold Eagles became available at the mint! Each coin contains 1/2 oz (0.5 troy ounce) of fine gold by weight and is struck from .917 fine (22-karat) gold. As legal tender it bears a 25-dollar face value.
On the obverse, the unmistakable design of Lady Liberty by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens is shown. Liberty lifts a torch above her head and carries an oak bough in her off hand as she ascends up a steep hill. The U.S. Capitol appears in the distance at the bottom-left of the design. "LIBERTY" is inscribed at the top rim and fifty stars form a ring around the design. The year-date "2018" is placed to Miss Liberty's right. The edge uses a reeded design.
The reverse bears Miley Busiek's design of a family of American bald eagles. Two baby eaglets sit in the nest with their mother while the father eagle is flying toward them carrying an olive branch. The issuing nation "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" is found along the top rim. Mottoes reading "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" appear on either side of the eagles. At the bottom rim, the coin's weight "1/2 OZ. FINE GOLD" and denomination "25 DOLLARS" are inscribed.
The perfect MS70 grade is coveted by collectors and makes a great addition to any collection. The First Day of Issue designation makes this coin even more alluring. Shop for this certified 2018 $25 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle NGC MS70 First Day of Issue for affordable prices at Gainesville Coins!
