The obverse bears the Augustus Saint-Gaudens design of Liberty that first appeared on the U.S. $20 coin in 1907. The design shows Lady Liberty marching toward the top of a hill that overlooks the U.S. Capitol building. She hoists a lit torch in front of her and holds an oak bough in her other hand. 50 stars line the outer rim and brilliant beams of light emanate from behind Lady Liberty. "2018" is inscribed to her right and the legend "LIBERTY" is placed at the top rim.
On the reverse, Miley Busiek's family of eagles motif is used. The father eagle carries an olive branch back to the family nest where he is greeted by his two eaglets and their mother. The issuing nation "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" is inscribed above. The bottom rim includes the weight and denomination, "1/2 OZ. FINE GOLD~25 DOLLARS." The edge design is reeded.
