Details & Specifications

Like the world-famous Gold Krugerrand, the American Gold Eagle is struck from .917 fine gold, making its purity 22 karats. In addition to containing one-half troy ounce (0.5 troy oz) of pure gold, this 2018 $25 American Gold Eagle has been graded MS70 by PCGS -- the highest possible grade any coin can receive. The special First Strike designation also means the coin arrived at PCGS for grading within the first 30 days it was issued by the U.S. Mint. As legal tender, the coin bears a face value of 25 Dollars.

The obverse is graced by the Saint-Gaudens rendition of Lady Liberty based on the sculptor's earlier statues of the goddess Victory. Miss Liberty triumphantly carries a burning torch atop a hill while radiant sunlight escapes over the horizon. The legend "LIBERTY" appears at the top rim while the year-date "2018" is placed to the bottom-right. Fifty stars fill the perimeter of the rim.

The reverse, created by mint artist Miley Busiek, depicts a scene of a family of bald eagles. One eagle returns carrying an olive branch while its mate protects their two young eaglets in the family nest. "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST" are inscribed to the left and right of the eagle family, respectively. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" denotes the issuing country along the top rim. Inscriptions at the bottom rim indicate the weight, composition, and denomination of the coin.

For over 30 years, the Gold Eagle has been a top choice among gold buyers around the world. With various sizes of the coin ranging from 1/10th troy oz to 1 oz, investors have flexibility with their stockpile of gold and collectors have a number of options to pursue. Don't miss out on this flawless 2018 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle PCGS MS70 First Strike while it remains in inventory!
