The Perth Mint's popular Lunar series is back with the 2019 Year of the Pig 10 oz Silver Coin. These bullion coins are a great way to stack up silver quickly. Each coin contains 10 troy ounces of pure silver, is struck from .9999 fine silver, and carries a legal tender face value of 10 Dollars.
Another new reverse design is featured on the 2019 coins. Four adorable piglets are shown in a pastoral setting along with one adult pig. The inscription "Year of the Pig" is placed along the bottom rim while the Chinese character representing the Lunar Pig is found at the top-left of the design.
The obverse uses Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right. The bust is surrounded by rim inscriptions that include the Queen's name, the issuing country "AUSTRALIA," the denomination "10 DOLLARS," the year of issue "2019," and the specifications "10 OZ 9999 Ag." The artist's initials are found just below the truncation of the bust. The edge has a reeded design.
Whether you're a coin collector looking for exciting new legal tender or are simply trying to accumulate silver bullion in bulk amounts, the 2019 Perth Mint 10 oz Silver Lunar Pig is an excellent addition to any portfolio.
