Thanks in part to its incredibly high purity and famous design, the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coin continues to grow in popularity all over the globe. Back for 2019, you can once again purchase Silver Maples in mint rolls of 25 coins.
Each coin is struck from extra-pure .9999 fine silver and contains 1 troy ounce of actual silver weight (ASW). As legal tender in Canada, each coin has a face value of 5 Dollars.
Each plastic tube comes from the Royal Canadian Mint and contains 25 neatly stacked Silver Maple Leafs, all dated 2019.
The familiar maple leaf design appears on the reverse of the coin. This classic artwork by Walter Ott has been used since the Silver Maple Leaf made its debut in 1988. "9999" is placed on either side of the leaf, while a much smaller maple leaf privy mark can be seen next to the stem. "CANADA" is inscribed at the top rim and the specifications "FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR" curls along the bottom rim.
Susanna Blunt's effigy of Queen Elizabeth II graces the obverse. Her Majesty faces right and is shown without her royal tiara. The inscription "ELIZABETH II" runs along the top rim while the denomination "5 DOLLARS" and year-date "2019" are placed at the bottom rim.
Both sides of the coin also use a distinctive radial line finish in the background. The edge bears a reeded design.
