Buy 2020 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin - Brilliant Uncirculated
Among modern European gold coins, the Gold Philharmonic has garnered the most interest worldwide. Millions have been sold since the coin debuted in 1989.
The 1/10 oz version was added by the Austrian Mint in 1991. It offers a great way to buy fractional gold that is backed by the full faith and credit of the issuing government.
This coin is struck from extra-pure .9999 fine gold, exceeding many of its competitors. Its net gold weight is 1 troy ounce (31.1 grams).
As legal tender in Austria, each coin bears a face value of 10 euros.
Engraver Thomas Pesendorfer created both the obverse and reverse designs. The obverse shows the pipe organ at Vienna's Musikverein music hall. The name of the issuing country "REPUBLIK OSTERREICH" is featured prominently across the top rim. Inscriptions below indicate the composition ("1/10 UNZE GOLD 999.9"), the year-date ("2020"), and the legal tender denomination ("10 EURO").
On the reverse, musical instruments are shown in a symmetrical arrangement. In addition to a harp, bassoon, and Vienna horn, a cello at the center of the design is flanked by two violins on each side. The inscription at the top rim reads "WIENER PHILHARMONIKER." The edge of the coin uses a reeded pattern.
Buying fractional gold coins has never been easier with the 2020 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin - Brilliant Uncirculated.
