Product Details

Part of the "Classic Design" series of privately minted silver rounds, the "Morgan Design" 1 oz silver round is a perennial favorite of Gainesville Coins' silver buyers. Made in the USA at ISO 9001-certified mints, this legal recreation of the famous Morgan silver dollar is struck from 1 troy oz of 99.9% pure silver. It has purer silver and a more silver content than the original Morgan!

The obverse of this round captures George T. Morgan's design in sharp detail. Lady Liberty wears a Phrygian cap with LIBERTY emblazoned across the headband. She wears a cockade of corn and cotton, the two main crops of America in the 19th century. The reverse show the American Eagle in a wreath of laurel. The reverse is where we find the difference in design between this round and the original Morgan dollar: the purity of ".999 Fine Silver" is inscribed between the outstretched wings of the eagle, and the face value of One Dollar on the lower border is replaced with "One Troy Oz."

This 1 oz Morgan Design Silver Round is a great way to get a modern rendition of the gorgeous Morgan Dollar design, at a fraction of what a mint state Morgan would cost! Please note this is a replica of an original design. Not an official government issue. Don't settle for boring silver when looking for low premiums, look to Gainesville Coins for bullion 1 oz Morgan Silver Rounds at bargain prices!

  • Morgan replica

This is another beautiful example of a silver round. A very close copy of a genuine Morgan dollar. I've bought two of these from another source and I plan to choose this type for my next purchase. However, again, this particular round has the word "copy" stamped on the reverse. The examples that I have do not. This is because mine were stamped at a different private mint, using a different design on the reverse, omitting the term "United States of America", and instead displaying it's metal weight and purity rating, thereby eliminating the need for the offending word "copy" to be on the coin.

I really like the Classic Design round series offered at Gainesville Coins. I also have the Walking Liberty and they are both fantastic. They are such quality that it's sometimes hard to believe that they are rounds.

I couldn't believe that this round actually has purer silver, and more silver content period, than the actual Morgan silver dollar. But it does! It is astounding quality for a round. I will be getting more in the future.

This is the third silver round that I have purchased. This is easily the most attractive round that I have purchased. It actually looks like a Morgan dollar. The spread on the Morgan compared to the Silver Eagle will save you a lot of money. The end result is, you both have an ounce of silver. Isn't that what it's all about?

Great looking round, Morgan round has very good stamp on it and good detail. Added these beauties and the Walking Liberty to my silver collection. Will order more in future.

Nice looking Morgan dollar replica. Reeded edges are rough. Not perfect but it's .999 fine silver. Mine has small "HM" mint marks...don't know what it is. Good way to buy low premium silver that's recognizable.
