The 2019 American Silver Eagle 1 oz Coin is the official silver bullion coin of the United States. It is has reigned as the best-selling silver coin in the world over the last several decades. With its face value of $1, the American Silver Eagle is also America's modern silver dollar coin.

Struck from .999 fine silver, the Silver Eagle has 1 troy ounce (31.1 grams) of actual silver weight (ASW). Its silver content is backed by the full faith and credit for the United States government.

The obverse design of each coin uses an enlarged and slightly modified version of the famous Walking Liberty motif created by sculptor A.A. Weinman. It appeared on the silver half dollar from 1916 to 1947. A wide-angle view of Lady Liberty striding triumphantly toward the rising sun is shown. Her dress resembles the stars-and-stripes pattern of the American flag. The traditional inscription "LIBERTY" curls along the top half of the rim, while the year-date "2019" is placed just below Miss Liberty's foot. The coin's edge design is reeded.

On the reverse, an heraldic eagle theme is used. This design was the work of former U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti and bears a close resemblance to the Great Seal of the United States. A bald eagle with its wings spread holds an olive branch and a bundle of arrows in its talons while an unsupported shield hovers in front of its breast. A ribbon clasped in the eagle's beak features the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and thirteen stars hover above the eagle's head. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" appears along the top rim while inscriptions at the bottom rim read, "1 OZ. FINE SILVER~ONE DOLLAR."
