In April, the U.S. Mint was forced to temporarily suspend all operations at the West Point Mint. As a result, a small number of American Silver Eagles were minted in Philadelphia—creating a new Silver Eagle rarity!
240,000 Silver Eagles were struck at the Philadelphia Mint during the shutdown at Wes Point. That makes these 2020 (P) American Silver Eagles the second-lowest mintage variety in the entire ASE series!
Gainesville Coins is thrilled to have several of these rarities available for sale. They have all been certified by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and come with a special label showing the coin's "Emergency Production" attribution.
This Silver Eagle received the exceptional grade of MS70 from the numismatic experts at NGC. That's the highest possible grade, indicating a flawless coin! It is also an Early Release, meaning it was received by NGC for grading within 30 days of being minted.
Thanks to its low mintage and unique backstory, this new issue is a MUST-HAVE for anyone with a serious collection of ASEs. Like all Silver Eagles, these coins are struck from .999 fine silver and each contain 1 troy ounce of pure silver by weight.
Be sure to get your 2020 (P) American Silver Eagle NGC MS70 ER Emergency Production Label before we run out!
